Tahmea Dowdell has been involved in the Miss America Opportunity for 7 years. She started as a princess, both as a participant and junior counselor at camp and began competing as a Teen in 2024. She won Miss Nevada’s Teen as Miss Lake Tahoe’s Teen and previously held the title of Miss Washoe County’s Teen in 2024. Tahmea hopes to become a Pediatric Oncologist and attend the University of Alabama utilizing the 4 year Presidential scholarship she earned by competing at Miss America’s Teen in September! Tahmea is a graduate of Edward C Reed High School and she chooses Miss America because she believe in the power of community and sisterhood, the impact of service and the doors scholarships open. As an only child, she doesn’t have siblings, which is why the sisterhood has been the best part of her journey! She has made so many impactful life-long connections. One being Milena, who she met when they were both princesses and now, Milena is her Little Sister and she had the honor to crown her as her Silver State Star at Miss Nevada this past June! Tahmea loves Miss Nevada because it is a chance to earn scholarships, grow as a leader, serve her community, all while building friendships that last a lifetime!
