Karrina Ferris of Carson City has been Involved in the Miss America Opportunity since she was only 4 years old beginning in our Little Sister
Mentorship Program. Karrina competed as a Teen earning thousands of dollars in scholarships and ultimately winning Miss Nevada in June of 2024 and finally fulfilling her life-long dream of competing on the iconic Miss America Stage this past December.
Karrina, a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno is currently working in Washington DC as an Intern for Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto and is actively applying to law schools – several of which she has turned down as her true aspiration, and LSAT scores have her aiming for Top 10 schools.
Karrina’s Social Impact Initiative
“Inform to Reform” has reached schools across every Nevada County teaching the importance of Civic Education, and having an informed voter base, as well as the importance of exercising your right to vote as soon as you are able.
Through Karrina’s work she helped to have one of the highest youth voter registrations In the country right here in Nevada! Karrina also was issued a proclamation from Governor Lombardo declaring the third week of September In Nevada
“Constitution Week”. She also hosts a podcast where she interviews politicians from both side of the aisle to create more awareness of the issues that matter!
